I attended the City of Neighborhoods in San Antonio this past summer and I realized that the students at my school currently participate in a year long activity that might be beneficial or inspirational to many of you around the nation. It is called the Fairchild Challenge and it is an environmental program with several options that allows students to participate in various interdisciplinary activities, many of which are design oriented. Here is the link: https://www.fairchildgarden.org/education/fairchildchallenge/. The challenge is open to middle and high school students in South Florida with an elementary pilot program currently in the works. I know that there have been several other botanic gardens around the nation who have adopted this program as well. I hope this helps.

This is such a neat program. Thank you for sharing it. I really like how it gives students "authentic experiences."
