As an adjunct to the ICFF Design Schools' Exhibition, Pratt has asked its design students to come up with some very cheap (less than a buck!) design ideas and is featuring the most successful in its current exhibition. Needless to say, not all managed to stick to the budget, but in the process of trying they learned a lot not only about improvising from cheap materials, but factoring in and minimizing environmental costs, including the green trail left by transportation, energy, labor etc. Read more at Linda Tischler's post on Fast Company.
