One thing that is becoming popular in Portland, OR, where I live, is to have energy consultants come evaluate the energy consumption and efficiency of homes and businesses. There are a number of local organizations that offer this service. I think this is a key part of the process, as it is not feasible or wise to destroy traditional structures in order to replace them with green buildings. This is also a great idea for a school project, don't you think?
